It is our goal to use this website to include 'All Things Irish' that will be occurring in Newport during the month of March. That includes AOH events, and events of other organizations that support the Irish culture, including The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, and The Museum of Newport Irish History . We have also included hyperlinks to participating organizations.

"A Taste of Kinsale, Ireland" At The Newport Marriott Hotel Atrium, 25 America's Cup Avenue, from 6 - 8 p.m. $25 per person. Enjoy appetizer-sized samples of "Irish infused" culinary delicacies prepared by the talented chefs from Kinsale and Newport! Be sure to make your reservations for the Dine-Outs at the participating restaurants. The festival kicks-off with celebrity commentator, Derek Davis, from Radio Television Ireland . Come enjoy the sounds of the AOH Pipe & Drums of Newport, sample Irish cheeses from Kerrygold, the Irish Dairy Board, and taste the official libation of Ireland, Murphy's Stout. Partake in an authentic Jameson's Whiskey Tasting, the official whiskey of the festival.   • The CIVITAS Award is presented to someone, usually of non-Irish descent, who makes contributions to the local community by voluntary work . This year’s nominee is Dr. Sandra Flowers who has been an active volunteer in dozens of groups and committees, including volunteers in Newport Education, the Newport Hospitality Commission, and St. Joseph’s Church. A retired Newport School Department teacher, Sandra continues to do volunteer work in Newport Schools. Presently, she is in her first term as a member of the Newport School Committee.

  • The Fenian Award is presented to someone of Irish descent who exemplifies the spirit of being Irish. This year’s nominee is Joe Brady, a founding member of the Newport, Rhode Island -Kinsale, Ireland Twinning Committee, thirty year member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a former Rhode Island State AOH president, and currently a National Director of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

5th Annual Saint Patrick's Day Family Celebration - at the "Hut", on Golden Hill Street, Newport, RI 02840 (Behind the Newport Public Library) - 1:00pm to 4:00pm - This event is a non- alcohol event. There will be entertainment with; Bag Pipers, Irish step dancers, pirates, live music, and more.
