Welcome to the Division #1 website The primary purpose of this site is to support the membership of Division #1 of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. We accomplish that goal by a combination of a public section and a 'Members Only' section. In addition, we want to support the Irish Heritage of our members. We accomplish that goal by including links to any other 'Irish based' organizations in the Newport area. These organizations are not, in any way, part of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The listing of their websites and their events is included as a courtesy to them and our visitors. . 2012 Irish Heritage Month - Click here for the calendar We are happy to host the Newport Irish Heritage Month calendar for 2012. This comprehensive schedule is based on input from the the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Newport, Rhode Island AOH Pipes & Drums, the Newport Irish Heritage Association, the Museum of Newport Irish History, the Newport Saint Patrick's Day Parade Committee, and other organizations which promote the Irish culture. . AOH Pipes & Drums - Newport, Rhode Island The Newport, Rhode Island Ancient Order of Hibernians Pipes and Drums was formed in November of 2006. The band consists of approximately 25 or more pipers and drummers with additional Color Guard members, and a Drum Major. The group has performed, not only at the annual Newport, Boston, and New York City Saint Patrick's Day Parades, but also the Aquidneck Island National Police Parades, the Tall Ships Parade, the Bristol Fourth of July Celebration Parade, and many other parades in Southern New England.
