This website supports and is devoted to the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Dennis Collins Division 1, located in Newport, RI. We welcome all who are interested in Irish Catholic culture and heritage. We invite all Catholics of Irish birth or descent to seek membership to the finest Irish Catholic Organization in the World — we would ask that of you embrace our motto of: “Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity”.
This site provides a public section and a 'Members Only' section. We include links to other National and local Irish organizations in the Newport and Providence area. These organizations may not be directly affiliated with the Ancient Order of Hibernians but share many common interests. The listing of their websites and their events are provided as a courtesy to them and as a convenience to our visitors.
While practicing friendship, unity and Christian charity, we will work to strengthen and defend our Roman Catholic faith, our loyalty to our country, and our communities; and perpetuate the religion, history, culture and traditions of our Irish heritage.

POSTPONED: November 15th Veterans Brunch & Flag pole dedication. Message from the President Kevin Doyle; With all of the current health concerns, I have decided to postpone the AOH /LAOH Veteran's flagpole dedication and lunch which was scheduled for November 15th A lot of effort went into the preparation for this event and many will be disappointed. However, I feel that we need to consider the health and safety of all our members first. Special thanks John Lalli, Jim Fowler and Patrick McGrath for their work and look forward to the day when we can hold this event to honor our Veterans.
Our division board met last week and decided to cancel the Febr monthly meeting. We are not comfortable with bringing a large group together at this point due to the ongoing health concerns and restrictions. A few of the committees have been meeting on a monthly basis in small groups and have been reporting back to the board. With the cancellation of the next two monthly meetings we have prepared a plan for nominations and election for the 2021 division board positions. For more information about elections and future plans please read this month's News Letter.
Please remember to support those businesses that have supported our Hibernian division over the years.
Among our greatest supporters are Bill Cardinal and Karen Cardinal and their family. They own and operate our local IHOP in Middletown.
They are open and serving Meals-to-Go during this virus crisis. Visit the IHOP Facebook page.
