ANCIENT ORDER OF HIBERNIANS RI STATE BOARD
MISSION
While practicing friendship, unity and Christian charity, we work to strengthen and defend our Roman Catholic faith, our loyalty to our country, and our communities; and perpetuate the religion, history, culture and traditions of our Irish heritage.
This site provides information about the RI AOH state board of officers and provides links to the various divisions that are chartered in Rhode Island. In additions, we provide links other national and local Irish organizations. These organizations may not be directly affiliated with the Ancient Order of Hibernians but share many common interests. The listing of their websites and their events are provided as a courtesy to them and as a convenience to our visitors.
RI AOH STATE BOARD NEWS
To Division 1 Newport RI President Bill Cardinal and incoming President Austin Behan, AOH Division 1 Board, and Hibernian Brothers,
As the New Year approaches, I wish you all a Blessed and Happy New Year and hope your Christmas was spent with loved ones near and far. Let us all remember our deceased family members and those of our Order and look to the New Year to honor their memories.
2025 is full of promise and I want to share with you some of what we have to look forward to.
The National AOH launches the new year looking towards current Member retention and to spreading the mission and message of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The next three months are traditionally when we attract new members. Please reach out to friends, family, and new acquaintance’s that may have interest in the Order and invite them to the Hall, or direct them to the National site (AOH.net) to learn more about becoming a member. There will be a new application process in 2025 and I will inform our membership, Financial Secretaries, and screening committee’s as these forms roll out.
Hard to believe, but Spring is right around the corner! This is the time to renew our faith! This is also the time of year that we fundraise for Project Saint Patrick to support our seminarians. I’ll have more on that over the coming months leading up to Easter.
As always, Freedom for All Ireland is one of the most important goals of the AOH. This is a specific interest of your new Vice President, Brian Doyle, so lets support any and all efforts in 2025 to advance this important AOH Mission.
2025 is the projected year to have our Warwick RI Division back up and running with a vibrant and new Executive Board. I will be reaching out to the Newport Division to support our efforts for fundraisers and general support as new members start their journey in Brotherhood with the AOH.
Happy New Year Brothers!
In Unity, Friendship, and Christian Charity,
Patrick McGrath
AOH RI State President and the RI State Board.
